Shrouded Sea Throw

The oceans and seas of the globe are known as the highways of the ancient world. And few things embody the sense of adventure and challenge as a vast tract of water to navigate.

My folks live in the west of Ireland, and we regularly visit a small, but beautiful village by the name of Strandhill for a walk and a bite when I am out that way. From here you are looking out across the grey and often turbulent Atlantic Ocean. Its sibling, the Pacific, I have only managed a single glimpse of, on the road between Vancouver to Seattle.

What inspired the Shrouded Sea design was a handful of happy days relaxing on a Beach with some friends in Dongguan, just north of my old stomping ground in Shenzhen, China. I really feel like I am far from home when the sun is hot and the seas are a roiling mess of deep blue and turquoise. Those folks don’t know how lucky they have it…

The third of four designs features elements of the landscape corresponding with the four classical elements; earth, wind, fire, and water.

This design comes in three sizes, detailed in the accompanying images, each with a design specifically created for its’ respective dimensions.

Designed here in our studio in Dublin, Ireland, and manufactured on the east coast of the United States, it is a combination of modern design techniques married to the aesthetic of the Jacquard Loom weaving process.
